Position Overview:

Vaco is seeking a Financial Specialist to join our team. The role is essential in managing daily financial operations in line with established accounting standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and cash collection.
  • Manage accounts payable activities, ensuring accurate tracking of purchases and disbursements.
  • Maintain vendor documentation and resolve any discrepancies related to accounts payable and receivable.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, allocating expenses to the correct accounts.
  • Prepare and file tax documentation with relevant authorities.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and general ledger.
  • Ensure accurate billing for clients and generate monthly invoices, addressing any inquiries related to billing.
  • Record journal entries to reflect financial transactions accurately.
  • Compile financial and audit reports related to cash flow, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and overall financial performance.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements in accounting systems and procedures.
  • Review budgets and ledgers for assigned departments, ensuring proper allocation of funds and expenditures.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for stakeholders as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in accounting software, preferably Sage.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator and other office equipment efficiently.
  • Solid understanding of financial accounting principles and tax reporting.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting is required, along with a minimum of three years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in a non-profit healthcare environment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
