Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure comprehensive job site protection during assignments, adhering strictly to established protocols, including effective radio communication with relevant personnel.
  • Conduct daily briefings with all team members on-site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Prepare and submit necessary electronic documentation, including daily reports and safety checklists.
  • Manage and position safety signage and equipment, handling items weighing between 15 to 90 pounds as required throughout the day.
  • Participate actively in ongoing safety training and qualification programs.
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors regarding assignments and operational schedules.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to fulfill business requirements.
Qualifications:

Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role.
  • Capable of effectively alerting workers to approaching trains.
  • Familiarity with On-Track Safety training protocols.
  • Proficient in radio communication procedures.
  • Experience in conducting safety briefings for team members.
  • Competent in using electronic communication tools and standard office software.
Required Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in track maintenance or construction.
Preferred Experience:
  • Background in construction.
  • Experience within the railway industry.
  • Military, law enforcement, or emergency medical experience.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
  • Experience in shipyard operations.
Certifications:
  • WMATA AMF On-Track Worker and Operating Rules certification.
