Elderwood at Uihlein at Lake Placid is seeking a skilled and compassionate Housekeeping Aide who desires to make a difference in the lives of our residents and their families.

This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all facility areas, including resident rooms, common areas, and offices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of general areas and assigned rooms of residents.
  • Assist with the discharge or transfer of residents, including cleaning and disinfecting floor, furniture, bed, and bathroom.
  • Follow safety rules and maintain vigilance concerning fire regulations and hazards.
  • Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene.
  • Collect and dispose of trash and other refuse in a manner that prevents the transmission of disease and does not create a nuisance or fire hazard.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
