PRIMARY ROLE:
The Occupational Safety Director is instrumental in steering and advising the operations within the facilities and associated sites. This role guarantees adherence to all relevant health and safety regulations as well as company protocols.

A strong commitment to safety, exceptional customer service, and the ability to coach teams in alignment with company values and essential safety protocols are crucial for success in this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee and enhance strategic planning while collaborating with engineering on the installation and modification of safety-related equipment.
- Design and implement comprehensive Health and Safety training programs for all staff, in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on various Health and Safety initiatives, including but not limited to MSHA regulations, Fall Protection, and Confined Space protocols.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all regulatory documentation to maintain compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Act as a liaison with federal and state regulatory bodies, including relevant agencies.
- Work with key stakeholders to foster a premier safety culture by implementing effective safety systems, policies, and initiatives aimed at enhancing employee safety behaviors and mitigating hazards.
- Lead strategies for incident prevention and provide education on predictive safety behaviors.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, including Root Cause Analysis, and develop corrective action plans to minimize future occurrences.
- Encourage the reporting of leading safety indicators.
- Possess expertise in Behavioral Based Safety programs.
- Serve as a technical authority in the application of corporate Quality, Safety, Health, and Environmental (QSHE) systems necessary for compliance and performance tracking.
- Have knowledge of Industrial Hygiene policies and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety requirements as mandated by relevant regulatory bodies.
- Maintain records and reporting in accordance with governmental and insurance requirements related to health and safety.
- Stay informed on MSHA regulations, hazard communication, workers' compensation laws, and emergency response protocols.
- Develop and sustain ISO 14000 and ISO 45001 systems.
- Engage with both internal and external stakeholders to uphold our commitment to operational integrity.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, with a focus on continuous improvement in safety, health, environmental stewardship, and quality management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with 5-10 years of relevant professional experience. A solid understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and proficiency in computer applications are essential.
Exceptional communication skills and authentic leadership abilities are mandatory. This position will primarily operate within our facilities while providing support across various locations.
