The Health and Safety Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the USLU and USAZ plants and associated quarries operate in full compliance with all applicable health and safety regulatory and Omya requirements. This position requires a strong leader who can create an environment that promotes communication and collaboration around safety across all departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for employees on health and safety programs, including MSHA Part 46, Fall Protection, and Confined Space.
  • Investigate incidents and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive a world-class employee safety culture by implementing safety systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain ISO 14000 and ISO 45001 systems.

Requirements:

A 4-year degree in Safety or Engineering, with 5-10 years of professional experience in occupational health and safety. Excellent communication and leadership skills required.

This role will be based at our plant in Lucerne Valley, California, and provides remote support and visits our plant in Superior, Arizona.
