Job Summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing routine painting, wall covering, and floor repairs or replacement. You will also assist with routine maintenance of the department, complete work orders, and respond to emergencies as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine drywall and paint repairs, including adjusting or replacing damaged hardware on structures, mounting or installing wall items, and repairing in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Responsible for the appropriate use of all tools and equipment.
  • Coordinate all work with Hospital supervision to minimize disruption to patients and staff.
  • Communicate existing and potential problems to coworkers and supervisors, including advising of results of preventative maintenance measures, ensuring that work orders are satisfied appropriately, and documenting all work performed.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring that preventative maintenance work orders are completed by due date and documenting preventative maintenance work completed timely.
  • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs, as assigned.
  • Complete projects as assigned.
Requirements
  • Able to operate all mechanical and hand tools associated with the work.
  • Able to resolve problems.
  • Good working knowledge of proper paints, thinners, and finishes.
  • Ability to apply proper paint and finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, frames, and floors.
  • Ability to make proper repairs to sheetrock and other surfaces.
  • Ability to maintain on-call status and shift rotation as required.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend blueprints and schematics.
  • Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Skill and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Skill and ability in Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years painting experience required.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 criteria preferred.
  • Experience working in a commercial or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Technical school training or apprenticeship program preferred.
