Job Summary:

The Scenic Painter Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all scenery is finished to the highest standard, aligning with the overall aesthetic vision of the RWS Design Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply flame retardant treatments to foam carvings and other scenic elements.
  • Collaborate with the RWS Design Department to ensure that scenery is finished in a way that meets the company's high standards.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of paint and application methods.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues in a theatrical/production setting.
  • Lead and manage a team of scenic painters.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in the technical entertainment field.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • OSHA and similar construction safety certification(s) helpful.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Preferred: Vocational or technical training in scenery, design, or painting.

Work Environment:

The Scenic Painter Specialist will work on-site, frequently exposed to unfavorable conditions such as all-weather, cramped, dirty, or unpleasant quarters.

Physical Effort:

Occasional handling of heavy objects (approx. 25-50lbs.) and materials, or heavy hand tools.

Salary:

$250/day.
