The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking multiple candidates to join the faculty as tenure-ineligible Clinical Instructors for its Ultrasound Fellowship. This esteemed program is designed to produce national leaders in the field of emergency ultrasound, directed by Dr. Christopher Thom, Ultrasound Director.
The Department of Emergency Medicine has a rich academic history, with well-established education programs for medical students, residents, and fellows. The University of Virginia Medical Center is a 600-bed tertiary care and Level 1 Trauma center located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The UVA Emergency Department treats an annual volume of >60,000 patients, inclusive of adult and pediatric cases.
As a Clinical Instructor in the Ultrasound Fellowship, you will have opportunities for excellent clinical and laboratory-based research and teaching pursuits within a collegial work environment. The position requires an MD or DO degree, completion of an ABEM/AOBEM accredited Emergency Medicine residency, and board certification or eligibility. A genuine passion for the area of interest is also essential.
