Instructional Duties:

· Deliver instruction in both theoretical and practical aspects of Speech Communication, adhering to state academic standards.

· Conduct classes in various formats including face-to-face, hybrid, or on-campus as required, in alignment with faculty workload expectations.

· Facilitate learning in environments that replicate industry standards, utilizing contemporary technology.

· Assess and document students' progress towards established goals and objectives.

· Provide timely grading of all coursework.

· Collaborate with students, staff, and fellow educators to address instructional programs and related matters.

· Ensure adherence to program certification and accreditation requirements relevant to the teaching discipline.

· Maintain comprehensive documentation and administrative reports as mandated.

· Stay informed about current trends and advancements in the field.

· Participate in professional development opportunities including training, workshops, and conferences.

Safety and Technology Compliance:

· Uphold safety and security standards within the classroom and laboratory settings.

· Collaborate with faculty to ensure operational readiness of all equipment.

· Recommend updates to technology to remain aligned with industry trends.

· Instruct students on safety protocols for equipment operation and tool usage.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of classrooms and work areas.

Curriculum Development and Student Outcomes:

· Design program curricula, syllabi, goals, and objectives.

· Prepare lesson plans for effective instruction.

· Work collaboratively with colleagues to establish, measure, and evaluate student learning outcomes for ongoing improvement and success.

· Submit necessary reports and data to accrediting organizations.

· Review and update master course shells in online learning platforms as needed.

Support for Program Leadership:

· Manage inventory of supplies and equipment.

· Prepare budgetary requests.

· Assist in recruitment, retention, and job placement initiatives.

· Participate in committees and project assignments as required.

· Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

· A Master's Degree in Speech Communication or a related field with 18 credit hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution.

· A valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

· A PhD in Speech Communication.

· Experience teaching at the postsecondary level.

· Familiarity with online or hybrid teaching environments.
