Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Speech Communication Instructor to join our team at GeorgiaGov. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Speech Communication courses in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses
  • Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives
  • Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
  • Requests and maintains supplies and equipment
  • Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
  • Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area
  • Meets with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues
  • Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech Communication or Master's degree in a related discipline with 18 hours in the teaching discipline from an accredited institution
  • Valid Driver's License
  • PhD in Speech Communication (preferred)
  • Teaching experience at the postsecondary level (preferred)
  • Experience teaching in an online or hybrid environment (preferred)
Work Environment

This job operates in a professional classroom/lab/clinical environment. This role routinely uses standard office/classroom/lab equipment and technologies.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time instructional position. Work load is Monday-Friday day/evening hours as needed. Weekends based on need.

Travel

Travel to other campuses is a possibility for teaching assignments, meetings, trainings, and professional development.
