Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our team at The Little School. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our young students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and Implement a High-Quality Curriculum: Develop and implement a play-based, emergent curriculum that supports children's physical and intellectual competence, while meeting the needs and interests of individual children.
  • Lead a Collaborative Team: Work closely with the classroom teaching team to plan and implement a curriculum that supports children's social and emotional development and provides positive guidance.
  • Ensure a Well-Run Program: Maintain a well-run, purposeful program responsive to children's and families' needs, including orienting, training, and supervising substitutes and volunteers.
  • Develop Positive Relationships with Families: Establish and maintain frequent, open communication with families to inform them of their children's school activities and facilitate children's transitions between home and school.
  • Commit to Professionalism and Educational Development: Follow and promote The Little School's philosophy, mission, and goals, while establishing and maintaining effective collegial relationships and communication with the classroom team and other school staff.

Requirements:

  • Establish and maintain effective collegial relationships and communication with the classroom team and other school staff.
  • Represent The Little School at early childhood events, parent information, and public events.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, in-service trainings, and other meetings as requested.
  • Meet with the director at least monthly and as needed to reflect, evaluate, plan, and problem-solve class and school issues.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to improve professional and personal skills and update knowledge of current professional practices.
  • Fulfill obligations for maintaining NAEYC accreditation.
