Zen Educate is seeking dedicated individuals who are enthusiastic about education and making a positive impact on the lives of children with special needs. As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will assist certified educators in providing tailored academic support, personal care, and addressing social and behavioral challenges faced by students. You will be expected to work with children who may have various health, sensory, physical, and/or behavioral disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support licensed educators in both classroom settings and community activities.
- Engage with individual students or small groups during lessons and assignments.
- Provide assistance to students experiencing crises.
- Deliver personal care to students under the guidance of licensed staff.
- Employ diverse instructional strategies to enhance learning experiences for students.
- Celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of the students you support.
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 60 college credits, an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on a relevant ADE assessment.
- Prior experience in special education environments.
- Experience as a Behavioral Technician or Personal Care Assistant.
- Training in Crisis Prevention (CPI).
- CPR certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must possess US Work Authorization. Zen Educate is unable to provide sponsorship for employment visas or relocation assistance.
- Proficiency in English is required.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- No weekend shifts
