Job Overview:
The State of Nebraska is seeking a dedicated individual to assume the role of a DHHS Eligibility Technician. This position plays a crucial role in the assessment and authorization of child care subsidies for families in need.
Key Responsibilities:
The DHHS Eligibility Technician will be responsible for:
- Evaluating child care subsidy applications and ensuring compliance with agency guidelines and applicable regulations.
- Gathering additional information through various means to verify applicant data.
- Analyzing application materials and interviews to determine eligibility for child care assistance.
- Issuing service authorizations based on eligibility findings.
- Communicating eligibility decisions and case status updates to clients through various channels.
- Providing information regarding eligibility requirements and application processes to applicants and recipients.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Dress Code:
Business Casual
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements: Experience in eligibility determination, community outreach, or related social services roles; or post-secondary education in social work, counseling, psychology, sociology, or a related field.
Preferred Experience: Background in case management for children and families or experience with child care providers.
Essential Skills:
Knowledge of: Office procedures and practices.
Skills in: Conducting interviews to gather critical information; effectively communicating with diverse audiences.
Ability to:
Understand and apply agency policies and eligibility criteria; manage interactions with clients from various backgrounds; maintain organized records; perform basic arithmetic calculations; and produce clear documentation.
