Overview

Provision Living Associates, LLC is in search of a reliable and organized leader to oversee the culinary services within our community. As the Food Service Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring a high-quality, hospitality-driven dining experience for our senior residents. Position Title: Food Service Operations Manager

Reports to: Executive Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

In the role of Food Service Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Executive Director and will be responsible for supervising and guiding the culinary program. Your duties will include planning and preparing appealing, nutritious, and heart-healthy meals for residents and guests.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and execute a menu cycle that resonates with residents and incorporates seasonal ingredients.
  • Onboard new dining service staff and provide additional support as needed.
  • Actively participate in food preparation and cooking.
  • Manage food and supply costs effectively while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Oversee all catering, room service, and special event needs.
  • Maintain accurate ordering and inventory records for food supplies.
  • Train staff on the operation, maintenance, and sanitation of kitchen equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper temperature controls.
  • Provide on-call cooking coverage as necessary.
  • Recruit, hire, and schedule dining service staff, ensuring schedules are communicated in advance.
  • Serve as Manager-on-Duty in rotation with other management personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises employees and is responsible for conducting performance evaluations, addressing employee concerns, and ensuring adherence to company policies and ethical standards.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) or equivalent experience; a minimum of two years in a related field.
  • ServSafe certification.
  • Applicable state licensure.
Skills and Experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Accountability for results and performance.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Dependable with a solid work ethic.
  • Understanding of laws and regulations related to Assisted Living care.
Travel Requirements

No travel is required for this position.

Physical Demands

This role may involve interacting with residents who may display challenging behaviors. The physical demands of this position include activities such as sitting, standing, walking, using hands for handling and feeling, reaching, talking, and hearing. Occasionally, the role may require crouching and lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs. Vision requirements include the ability to see near and far distances.
