Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Co-Teacher to join our team at Bridges Public Charter School. As a Co-Teacher, you will work collaboratively with a classroom teacher to provide high-quality, universally designed instruction to students with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement curriculum standards-based units that incorporate differentiated instruction and the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Framework.
  • Provide direct specialized instruction to students according to their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
  • Develop and maintain IEPs and 504 plans that are strength-based and child-centered.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement student IEPs and 504 plans, including adapting and modifying curriculum and managing classroom behaviors.
  • Assess student progress and develop systems to collect data towards IEP goals.
  • Participate in eligibility and annual IEP meetings, and contribute to parent-teacher conferences.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Elementary Education and Special Education, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of teaching experience in an urban school setting, preferably in special education.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and experience teaching in a constructivist way.
  • COVID-19 vaccine preferred, but not required.
