Responsibilities:
  • Define and articulate the UI/UX vision and strategy for government applications, aligning with regulatory requirements and user needs.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of UI/UX projects, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing iteration.
  • Build and enhance user interfaces using modern web technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, and associated frameworks.
  • Create and maintain design assets, including wireframes, mockups, and prototypes, that meet government standards and accessibility guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor accessibility standards using tools like Pa11y to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage and collaborate on code using GitLab, including repository management, merge requests, and version control.
  • Work to implement automation strategies for testing, deployment, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.
  • Integrate and visualize data using dashboard tools like Grafana, ensuring data presentation aligns with user needs and enhances decision-making capabilities.
  • Apply secure coding practices to prevent vulnerabilities and regularly conduct code reviews and security assessments to ensure robust application security.
Requirements:
  • Associate degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience; OR minimum of 8 years with a Bachelor's degree; OR minimum of 6 years with a Master's degree; OR minimum of 3 years with PhD.
  • Four (4) years of additional experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • This position requires US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and state management libraries such as Pinia.
  • API integration experience with RESTful web API calls and workflows.
  • Experience with UX/UI design and development, including responsive design and accessibility.
  • Experience with accessibility testing tools like Pa11y and understanding of relevant accessibility standards and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage stakeholders, and drive product vision in a government context.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex design and technical concepts clearly.
  • Familiarity with additional front-end frameworks and libraries.
  • Experience in a government or regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies and project management practices.
