Senior General Accountant Role

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage month-end closing activities, including creating and posting unbilled revenue entries, accruing for power purchases, and performing volume analysis for revenue vs. cost of sales.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial information, supporting strategic decision-making processes and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.
  • Assist with key performance indicators (KPIs) for retail revenue and derivative accounting, and calculate and record income tax and deferred tax.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations, prepare or review based on account, and maintain records of monthly obligations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
  • Experience in the retail electricity industry or energy sector is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Enthusiastic, driven, and committed to success while working under tight time constraints and pressure.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively within teams and independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication with 3rd parties, internal teams, and management is essential.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
