The Lead Correctional Supervisor plays a vital role in overseeing the administrative and operational security functions within a correctional facility. This position directly supervises Correctional Officers assigned to the shift and ensures the safety and legal rights of each inmate/resident are upheld.

  • Provide overall supervision of Correctional Officers and inmates/residents during the shift, assessing performance in accordance with facility and corporate policies.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of all housing and communal areas to ensure compliance with established standards, operational procedures, and corporate security, health, safety, sanitation, and welfare guidelines; direct staff and inmate/resident resources to address any identified issues.
  • Assist in overseeing both internal and external security measures of the facility; routinely inspect posts to monitor personnel alertness and confirm that security protocols are consistently upheld.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the criminal justice field, with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Completion of basic pre-service officer training and, where applicable, possession of a non-commissioned security officer license as required by the state of employment.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
