We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health Screener to join our team at BioLife Plasma Services. As a Health Screener, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations.
Your primary responsibility will be to greet donors, perform venipuncture, and monitor donors during the donation process. You will also be responsible for managing donor reactions, performing tasks required for the setup and operation of plasmapheresis equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities- Greet donors and perform venipuncture
- Monitor donors during the donation process and manage donor reactions
- Perform tasks required for the setup and operation of plasmapheresis equipment
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Stock supplies and assist with proper disposal
- Take and record donor pulse, blood pressure, and temperature measures
- Enter donor information into the Donor Information System (DIS)
- Coordinate donors to the donor floor and compensate donors using the Debit Card system
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or equivalent, be able to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift, and be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will also need to be able to lift up to 5 lbs. and occasionally lift materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
Additionally, you will need to have fine motor coordination, depth perception, and the ability to hear equipment from a distance. Due to the potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens, you will need to wear gloves for prolonged periods.
