About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Transactions and Contracts Counsel to join our legal team at Viridian Therapeutics. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting our business functions, including finance, clinical operations, quality, research, and development.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer contracts across the organization, ensuring timely and effective execution;
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of agreements and documents, including confidentiality agreements, clinical trial agreements, and sponsored research agreements;
  • Provide legal and business support for research, development, quality, and clinical operations, ensuring alignment with company risk tolerance and contracting standards;
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external parties to achieve business goals while managing risk;
  • Develop and implement effective contract management systems and processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor from a national law school and strong academic credentials;
  • Admission to and in good standing with the bar of at least one state;
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of legal experience, including meaningful experience providing legal and business advice, preferably in a company with late-stage clinical or commercial products;
  • Significant experience in contract negotiation, with a strong understanding of legal contractual terms and risk assessment;
  • A motivated self-starter with a strong sense of accountability and ownership;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external parties;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to creatively synthesize new solutions to old problems;
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and contract management software.
