Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on plant equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot basic mechanical assemblies to determine whether a pump, gearbox, hydraulic system, or pneumatic system can be repaired or needs to be replaced.
  • Repair and Replacement: Repair or replace worn parts, and perform routine equipment care on all shop machinery, mobile equipment, and cranes.
  • Inspections and Record Keeping: Periodically inspect conditions of plant operating machines and equipment for preventative maintenance purposes, and maintain specified records of work performed.
  • Operational Support: Assist in training of coworkers as needed, and maintain communication with coworkers through two-way radio and hand signals.
  • Teamwork: Work as part of a self-directed team with limited supervision, and maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of heavy industrial mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Skills: Advanced knowledge of AC/DC motors, gearbox mechanics, lubrication principles, welding, cutting torch, NFPA 70E, and common maintenance hand tools.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to climb stairs, climb ladders, reach, squat, tolerate prolonged standing/walking, balance, bend, operate mobile equipment, crawl, kneel, and push and pull objects.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment: Industrial plant environment with exposure to extreme ambient temperatures, noise levels, and cramped quarters.
  • Shift Schedule: Rotating shift schedule including days, nights, and weekends.
