Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Therapy Supervisor to join our team at Community Health Network. As a key member of our Respiratory Care Department, you will be responsible for providing daily leadership and support to our respiratory therapy team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide shift-to-shift leadership and support to the respiratory therapy team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and services.
  • Assist with the orientation of new employees and respiratory therapy students, ensuring a smooth transition into the department.
  • Coordinate shift staffing needs, making staff assignments based on acuity, skill level, and competencies.
  • Verbally address employees regarding work performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Update, revise, and develop policies and procedures for the Respiratory Care Department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Access staffing grids and/or Respiratory point system every four hours to ensure adequate staffing levels for current and oncoming shifts.
  • Assist the Respiratory Manager with financial operations, demonstrating accountability for unit productivity targets.
  • Perform all functions as a registered respiratory therapist, including taking a patient assignment.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluating data necessary for regulatory purposes or data needed for specific unit goals and objectives.
  • Support staff in anticipating problem areas and initiating service recovery as appropriate.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation is completed according to Network policies and procedures.
  • Investigate incident reports or quality issues and provide follow-up as needed.
Requirements
  • 2-year/Associate Degree of Science Degree from an accredited college or university in Respiratory Care or its equivalent.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA).
  • 2+ years of experience in General and Critical Respiratory Care.
  • Knowledgeable and proficient in the standards of care and practice related to the Respiratory Care Department.
