Position: School-Based Physical Therapist

Are you a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist seeking to positively impact the lives of students? This role offers a unique opportunity to work with children in an educational setting, focusing on their physical rehabilitation and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform thorough assessments to evaluate students' physical capabilities and challenges.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that align with individual educational goals and therapeutic needs.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to enhance students' mobility, strength, and coordination.
  • Deliver therapy services in both individual and group formats.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapy objectives into the students' learning experiences.
  • Advise on and assist with the procurement of necessary adaptive equipment or assistive technologies.
  • Provide training and resources to parents and school staff to support students' physical growth.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and prepare necessary reports.
  • Engage in IEP meetings to contribute to the formulation of educational goals and necessary accommodations.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in pediatric physical therapy through ongoing professional education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Current Physical Therapist license in California.
  • Experience in a school or pediatric environment is advantageous, though new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with pediatric therapy methodologies and assessment techniques.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
  • Understanding of special education regulations and the IEP process is beneficial.
