Banquet Server Job Description

At Big Horn Corporation, we are seeking a skilled Banquet Server to join our team. As a Banquet Server, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our members and guests during meal periods and events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide a welcoming and professional demeanor to all members and guests.
  • Maintain a "members first" mentality and address members by their last name and appropriate title or honorific.
  • Attend pre-shift meetings and perform related banquet set-up tasks.
  • Take beverage orders and serve food in specified stations.
  • Pour and refill wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served with and after the meal.
  • Clear dishes after courses and perform consistent table maintenance consistent with the type of service being performed.
  • Clean all assigned work areas during and after functions.
  • Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
  • Assist in closing functions, such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for the next function.
  • Consistently follow all food safety-related requirements.
  • Complete other appropriate assignments made by the Banquet Captain or F&B Managers.
  • Know basic cocktails and wines by the glass and demonstrate basic wine knowledge and wine service.
  • Assist other team members and positions where practical or needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience.
  • Preferred requirements/skillset: 12 months of banquet service in a country club or resort environment, excellent verbal communication, ability to execute a variety of service types (Russian, French, American, etc.).
Physical Demands:

Frequently stands, walks, tastes, smells, talks, listens, uses hands, and reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally sits, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, or crouches. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Available to work flexible hours.

Environment/Noise:

Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), near moving mechanical parts, near fumes or airborne particles, with toxic or caustic chemicals, and in extreme heat or cold (non-weather). Noise level is moderate.

Special Notes:
  • Big Horn Corporation is a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
  • Cellphones may not be used in certain work areas or specific periods, and you may be required to store your phone should it be required by management.
Certificates/Licenses:

Food Safety and Applicable Sanitation Training. RBS or equivalent Alcohol Awareness Training. This position is seasonal.

Salary: $17.00 per hour.
