We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to join our team at UCHealth. As a critical care liaison and clinical resource, you will conduct interventions focused on care coordination and utilization.
Responsibilities- Makes frequent rounds to nursing units and ancillary hospital units to provide clinical consultation and ensure care coordination.
- Works to optimize healthcare team interventions by providing advanced, anticipatory care interventions to achieve safe, optimal health outcomes for patients and families.
- Coordinates care across departments to meet outcomes management and system improvement goals.
- Educates staff on effective and safe patient care methods.
- Collaborates with staff to identify outcome indicators, data analysis, and system improvement opportunities.
- Attends Rapid Response Team (RRT) to provide clinical consultation and coordination of care.
- Provides direct patient care as needed, including administering medications per licensure authority and documenting administration per policies and regulatory requirements.
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
- State licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (RT).
- National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification within 1 year of hire.
