Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Truck Driver Trainee to join our team at Freeport-McMoRan Inc. in Bagdad, AZ. As a Truck Driver Trainee, you will be responsible for performing inspections to maximize equipment and tire life, executing assignments from a computerized dispatch system, and receiving training and mentoring from experienced operators and supervisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections to maximize equipment and tire life
  • Execute assignments from a computerized dispatch system
  • Receive training and mentoring from experienced operators and supervisors
  • Understand changes to assigned work areas and potential hazards
  • Know procedures for start-up and shut-down, fueling, fire, runaway, emergency, and accident
  • Have knowledge of payload measurement system, over speed alarm, dispatch codes, shovel and truck horn signals, secondary brake, and park brake
  • Perform safe spotting at shovel, loading, transporting material, dumping on stockpiles, and dumping at crusher
Requirements
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
  • Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude
