The Operations Supervisor acts as a critical link between the frontline personnel and upper management. This role is essential for managing and coordinating the daily functions of airport services during assigned shifts. Key responsibilities include overseeing staffing schedules, managing operational budgets, and minimizing overtime costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily airport service operations, which may encompass passenger assistance, ground handling, baggage services, and security protocols.
  • Ensure seamless and efficient operation of all airport services, swiftly resolving any arising issues.
  • Implement and uphold the Safety Management System (SMS) across all operations.
  • Develop and enforce a comprehensive safety strategy for the station.
  • Maintain oversight of Quality Assurance concerning operational performance and safety, providing necessary guidance.
  • Conduct training and retraining for all staff on airline protocols, safety measures, and company policies, including corrective and preventive actions.
  • Foster positive employee relations and effectively address any personnel issues.
  • Adhere to company policies and contribute to the achievement of organizational goals.
  • Lead and support airport service personnel during shifts, including duty supervisors, ground crew, and customer service representatives.
  • Facilitate briefings at the beginning of each shift to relay essential information, including flight schedules and operational updates.
  • Manage staff scheduling, shift adjustments, and task assignments to ensure optimal coverage and operational efficiency.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external communications during shifts, including coordination with airline partners, airport authorities, and the public.
  • Collaborate with other airport departments, such as maintenance, security, and air traffic control, to ensure cohesive operations.
  • Prepare and submit detailed shift reports outlining operational activities, incidents, and any challenges encountered.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of progressive supervisory or management experience.
  • One (1) year of experience in airline operations.
  • Valid Driver's License (must comply with company driving policy).
  • Experience in managing schedules, budgets, and performance metrics.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in computer applications: Word, Excel, and data entry.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Must possess reliable communication and transportation means.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory or management experience in airline operations.

Language Proficiency:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational manuals, and employee handbooks.
  • Capability to present information clearly, both verbally and in writing, and respond to inquiries from passengers, managers, clients, and the public.
  • Effective listening skills are essential.
