Position Overview:


The Respiratory Care Practitioner III is responsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and assessing respiratory therapy interventions and life support for patients across various medical settings, including neonatal intensive care. This role operates under the guidance of a physician and adheres to prescribed treatment plans.

The responsibilities include delivering essential life support services, administering oxygen therapy, managing medical gas treatments, and conducting blood gas analyses.

Upholds the Patient Bill of Rights and treats all individuals with respect and dignity.


Ensures confidentiality of patient information and communicates with patients using their appropriate titles.


Responds to patient inquiries with courtesy and professionalism, documenting necessary details during phone interactions.


Patient Care:
Demonstrates expertise in providing comprehensive care to patients of all age groups, including neonates, children, and adults.

Participates actively in patient care rounds as part of the critical care team.

Assesses patient conditions and provides tailored respiratory therapy based on individual needs.

Monitors patient responses to therapy and documents findings in accordance with departmental protocols.


Initiates routine orders and adjusts airway management techniques as necessary.


Equipment Management:
Effectively operates and maintains respiratory care equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Maintains inventory levels and reports any equipment malfunctions promptly.

Documentation:
Ensures accurate and timely record-keeping for all respiratory care activities.

Education and Development:
Engages in ongoing professional development and participates in training for new staff members.

Qualifications:
Must possess a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner License and relevant certifications in advanced life support.

Preferred Experience:
Two years of recent experience in a neonatal intensive care environment is advantageous.
