Automation Scientist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Automation Scientist to join our team at On-Board Companies in San Francisco, CA. As an Automation Scientist, you will play a crucial role in driving the implementation of automated workflows to support pre-clinical studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement automation workflows, support lab instrumentation, and develop client data handling and analysis workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of automated workflows to support assays such as immunoassay, peptide stability, protein binding, and automated sample preparation for plasma and tissue drug concentration analysis.
  • Map and integrate all workflows for efficient use of automation and space.
  • Develop and update operations SOPs.
  • Troubleshoot errors, maintain, and update instruments.
  • Train scientists in automation workflows and platforms.
  • Manage data integrity through automated processes.
  • Collaborate to identify, evaluate, and recommend client and cutting-edge automation and assay strategies to drive our discovery programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automated Sciences, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, or equivalent with scientific expertise in laboratory equipment and bioanalytical assays.
  • Experience with liquid handling systems and programming automated laboratory devices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to generate, evaluate, and understand scientific data generated on robotic platforms.
  • Self-sufficiency and ability to hit the ground running.
  • Experience with robotic system schedulers and electronic laboratory notebooks.
