Position: General Utility Worker

Mission: To make a meaningful impact by providing exceptional service through cleanliness and organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all kitchen areas, equipment, dishware, and utensils are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly manner. You will also assist with food preparation tasks and will be trained across various kitchen roles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently scrape and pre-rinse food from soiled dishes before placing them in the dishwashing machine (50% of the time).
  • Manually wash pots, pans, and trays as needed (15% of the time).
  • Complete all assigned preparation tasks (10% of the time).
  • Remove waste and garbage to designated disposal areas (10% of the time).
  • Clean work surfaces, walls, refrigeration units, cooking equipment, and floors (5% of the time).
  • Maintain cleanliness of garbage cans and trash receptacles (5% of the time).
  • Assemble, maintain, and disassemble the dishwashing machine (5% of the time).

Qualifications:

  • A genuine desire to support others, grow personally, and learn professionally.
  • A positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to transport items weighing up to 50 pounds multiple times throughout the day.
  • Capability to place dishes, utensils, and equipment on both high and low shelves.
  • Work primarily indoors (90%) with some outdoor tasks (10%).
  • Experience working in a warm and humid environment.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations to ensure safety.

Physical Demands:

This position involves various physical tasks. To excel in this role, you will need to regularly navigate the restaurant, communicate with team members, and handle items weighing up to five pounds frequently, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Bending and stooping will also be required. Adequate vision is necessary to maintain cleanliness standards and operate equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
