Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electroneurodiagnostic Technician to join our team at Ochsner LSU Health System of North Louisiana. As an EEG Specialist, you will play a critical role in conducting and preparing patients for routine Electroneurodiagnostic (END) procedures, including EEG, Evoked Potentials, and specialized studies in the clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Gather and document patient information, including medical history, symptoms, and medications.
  • Conduct EEG and other END procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Collect and analyze data, assisting medical staff with complex recordings.
  • Interact with patients, families, and medical staff, explaining test procedures and results.
  • Practice infection control procedures and maintain a clean and safe environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or completion of an END Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Clinical experience equivalent to 3 or more years training in the field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a patient care area, interacting with patients, and potentially being exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent must be able to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts.
