Licensed Veterinary Technician

Job Summary:
The ASPCA Animal Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our veterinary medical team.
Responsibilities:
- Nursing Care and Client Services (40%): Provide compassionate and quality patient care at all times, utilizing Fear Free Guidelines. Possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of veterinary medical concepts, and proficient in various technical nursing skills, including venipuncture, catheter placement, intubation, anesthesia monitoring, diagnostic imaging, critical care, pharmacology, and dentistry.
- Professionalism, Communication, and Performance (40%): Represent ASPCA in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Provide management with regular feedback about training needs, new hires, coworkers, interns, hospital needs, etc. Collaborate professionally with other ASPCA department managers and staff. Support organization and departmental policies and protocols, and maintain open mind regarding changes and be willing to learn, implement, and teach new protocols.
- Housekeeping and Maintenance (20%): Clean and disinfect kennels, equipment, and facility while utilizing appropriate PPE. Follow all departmental PPE and cleaning protocols, and take inventory and stock supplies as needed.
Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds, and work standing for 10 or more hours.
- Basic to advanced computer skills, including Excel, Microsoft Office, and ImproMed.
- Completion of the Fear Free 8 module course or willingness to complete within 60 days of hire/promotion.
- High degree of integrity and accountability, and knowledge of shelter medicine and operations.
- Possess excellent customer service skills, and outstanding inter-personal communication and the ability to work in a team environment or independently.
