Job Summary

Zurich is seeking a Property Underwriter (Senior or AVP Level) for our Commercial Insurance team in Seattle or San Francisco. This hybrid position requires 2-3 days per week in office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwrite new and renewal business, utilizing The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels on assignments of higher technical complexity.
  • Ensure a high level of service to customers, utilizing marketing and analytical skills.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition.
  • Support the organization's sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers, and customers.
  • Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
Requirements
  • Senior Property Underwriter: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • AVP Property Underwriter: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical knowledge of commercial Property Underwriting.
  • Established broker relationships (Retail, select brokers) in Region.
  • International customer base experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
