Egg Grader Lineman

Job Summary:

The Egg Grader Lineman is responsible for ensuring that all cases processed through the Grader are stacked properly for transport to the cooler. This role requires concentration, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up case stacking line each morning, including setting skids in their proper places and acquiring all necessary materials.
• Stack all processed cases onto the appropriate skids after they come off the line.
• Monitor all cases after they are processed through the Grader to ensure they are sealed and labeled properly.
• Bring up cartons from the carton room for the day's Grader run and additional cartons as needed.
• Maintain the tape machine and ensure it is sealing case boxes properly throughout the day.
• Pull full skids of eggs to the cooler as they are filled during the shift's run.
• Keep an accurate inventory of rejects.
• Dispose of trash and cardboard properly at the end of each shift.
• Assist packers or candlers as directed by the Grader Manager.
• Stack and move egg cases, racks, or skids in the most efficient and safe manner possible to reduce loss.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent desired.
• Previous grading or egg industry experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of egg production operations and the role the Grader plays in getting finished product out efficiently.
• Ability to work on a monotonous job for extended periods and maintain discipline.
• Ability to work long hours if needed and maintain a flexible schedule.
• Excellent teamwork skills and ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
• Ability to lift more than 40 lbs. continually throughout the day.
• Ability to stand for the majority of the day and work in a physically demanding environment.

Work Environment:

The Egg Grader Lineman will work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas, each varying in temperature and other environment-specific atmospheres.
