Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at the Orthopaedic & Spine Center of the Rockies. As a key member of our surgical team, you will assist in patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse and according to our department's policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in patient care activities, including scrubbing cases, assisting surgical teams, and maintaining aseptic practices.
  • Monitor and maintain sterile fields, gather sterile supplies, and ensure adequate instruments are available for each case.
  • Count sponges and needles on every case with the Registered Nurse circulator and assist in positioning patients, prepping patients, and setting up equipment.
  • Assist OR staff in moving anesthetized patients and assist with room turnover post-procedure, including reprocessing instruments and disinfecting equipment.
  • Follow policies for infection control, handle and dispose of infectious/hazardous waste materials, and create and update preference cards for each physician.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Completion of a recognized surgical technologist training program, required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with processing/sterilizing surgical instruments.
  • Valid DORA registration with the State of Colorado, required.
  • Surgical Technologist certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology, preferred.
