About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Specialist at Sopris Lodge at Carbondale. As a key member of our facilities team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all areas of the facility are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition, adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing staff to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform routine cleaning assignments in resident living and recreational areas, including sweeping, buffing, and mopping floors, dusting and polishing furniture and equipment, and sanitizing sinks, toilets, and shower areas.
  • Replenish paper products, hand soap, and wastebasket liners, and remove trash and wash out trash receptacles on a regular basis.
  • Inform supervisor of supply or equipment needs and maintain housekeeping cart and utility closets in a sanitary and orderly condition.
  • Report any damaged or loose fixtures, flooring, or tiling requiring replacement or repair, any unsafe or malfunctioning equipment, or any conditions conducive to breeding insects, rodents, or other vermin.
Requirements
  • Bilingual with the ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish preferred.
  • On-the-job training provided.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, move, and/or carry a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
Working Environment

Works in all areas of the facility, moves intermittently during working hours, and is subject to frequent interruptions. May be required to work beyond normal duty hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily, when necessary. Is subject to call back during emergency conditions and attends and participates in continuing educational programs.

Physical and Sensory Requirements
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
  • Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this facility, which include a mental and physical examination.
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
