Job Summary:

New Opportunities is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Residential Monitor to join our team. As a Residential Monitor, you will be responsible for providing overall supervision of residential clients and the residential building.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a Safe and Secure Environment: Ensure the residential building and grounds are safe and secure for all residents.
  • Supervise Resident Activities: Monitor and supervise resident activities, including sign-out sheets, direct observations, and off-grounds activities.
  • Account for Supplies and Equipment: Account for the use of all supplies, food, equipment, and other resources.
  • Prepare Reports and Log Notations: Make all necessary log notations and prepare reports as required.
  • Enforce Program Rules: Enforce all program rules in a consistent manner, ensuring a positive and respectful environment for all residents.
  • Inspect Parcels and Search Individuals: Inspect all parcels for contraband and search individuals as needed.
  • Transport Residents: Transport residents as required, with some positions requiring a public service license.
  • Supervise Community Service: Supervise clients performing community service.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience in a social service or helping profession, or in security work.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent reading and written communication skills, with the ability to respond calmly and appropriately to angry or aggressive behavior.
  • License: CT Drivers License and Public Service license preferred.
