Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our team at North East Medical Services (NEMS). As a Physician, you will provide primary, urgent, or specialty medical care to patients at our clinic and perform related duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary, urgent, or specialty care to all patients in accordance with your medical specialty.
  • Develop a plan of care for each patient, including a complete medical history, physical examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment, and/or referral, including hospitalization when necessary.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and explain the results to patients.
  • May hospitalize NEMS patients when appropriate and serve as the attending physician for the patient during their stay in the hospital.
  • On a rotational basis, serve as the on-call physician when the NEMS clinic is not open.
  • Is able to work on Saturday clinic on a rotational basis.
  • Stress the importance of preventative health care measures and counsel patients.
  • Prescribe medications or therapies.
  • Use all available resources in diagnosis and treatment, such as laboratory and radiological testing, in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner.
  • Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and patient families concerning treatment and care of patients.
  • Refer patients requiring specialist services, but maintain responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is provided.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of a regularly updated performance improvement plan for NEMS.
  • Adhere to ethical, professional, and legal requirements as mandated by federal, state, local, and funding agencies.
  • Document electronically with NEMS EHR system.
  • Attend all medical staff meetings and participate in the community health center's Quality Assurance program.
  • Comply with all state and federal mandated regulations.
  • Assist in the training of para-professional and non-medical personnel.
  • Provide guidance to other health team members in the development of health education materials and programs for registrants and the community at large.
  • Provide training or teaching, when appropriate, to medical students, medical residents, nursing students, and other students who come to NEMS for training.
  • May provide supervision to mid-level providers such as NP or PA.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Nevada.
  • Ability to work as a team with other health professionals and non-medical personnel.
  • Board eligible or certified in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Ob/Gyn, or Emergency Medicine.
  • If providing subspecialty or specialty services, be board eligible or certified to that specific specialty or fellowship.
  • Current documentation of Basic Life Support is required.
Language

Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write English. Fluent in Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). Fluent in other languages are an asset.
