Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Medicine Specialist to join our team at one of our state-of-the-art veterinary hospitals. As a key member of our hospital team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch patient care, conducting diagnostic exams, and developing treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform physical examinations, diagnose diseases, and provide preventive care according to patient signalment, lifestyle, and environment.
  • Utilize a problem-based approach to develop complete problem lists, differential diagnoses, and diagnostic plans for every patient examined.
  • Document all patient observations, findings, treatments, and medications in the medical record in a concise and detailed manner.
  • Perform routine and complex surgical procedures, including spays/neuters, abdominal exploratory, and mass removals.
  • Develop treatment plans for patients undergoing day hospitalization and communicate effectively with referral hospitals to ensure continuity of patient care.
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
  • Active licensure as a veterinarian without contingencies in the state where the hospital is located or ability to obtain by start date.
  • Current DEA license.
  • USDA Category I (minimum) Accreditation or completion within two months of hire date.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries, including canine and feline spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
