Position Overview: The Production Floor Lead in the manufacturing sector is tasked with supervising the operations of the production (embroidery & heat seal) teams by assisting the shift manager and ensuring a streamlined workflow. This department is responsible for applying logos through various surface decoration techniques to items such as hats, clothing, and other apparel. The team also handles product cleanup, logo quality inspection, ticket or UPC sticker application, garment folding, and product packaging to guarantee superior quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the shift manager in overseeing approximately 50-70 production staff.
- Support the Command Center operations.
- Allocate and prioritize tasks for team members effectively.
- Verify order accuracy.
- Ensure quality control, proper labeling, and packaging standards.
- Guarantee on-time product delivery.
- Train operators on quality and production standards for garments and caps.
- Participate in the recruitment process for new hires.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Supervisory experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in reading instructions in English.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated initiative, energy, and drive.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Familiarity with Word, Excel, and relevant software applications.
- Ability to foster positive working relationships with colleagues and management.
Supervisory Duties:
- Oversee a team of 50-70 direct and indirect employees across all production areas.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity and physical capability to perform various tasks.
- Occasional requirements to climb, bend, reach, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional pushing or pulling may be necessary.
Vision Requirements:
- Ability to see both close and distant objects.
- Color vision is necessary.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to moderate noise levels.
