About the Role:

The Senior Mental Health Therapist is a key member of our multidisciplinary team, responsible for providing direct clinical services to clients and their families. This includes diagnosing and treating mental and emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective, or behavioral.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develops initial discharge plans.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans for clients based on assessments and coordinates additional services as needed.
  • Provides individual, group, and family therapy sessions as appropriate for the treatment plan.
  • Applies psychotherapeutic techniques and interventions to deliver services to individuals and families.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary treatment planning conferences and presents client information to the treatment team.
  • Maintains a caseload as assigned and develops and implements special client groups or program modules.
  • Ensures timely preparation of progress notes and treatment updates in the medical record.
  • Provides crisis intervention to clients and families in acute distress and introduces them to community resources.
  • Provides case management, discharge planning, or after-care planning according to the treatment plan.
  • May assist in educating and training staff on behavior management or therapeutic crisis intervention.
  • May coordinate clinical and psychosocial activities with clients and their families.
  • Evaluates client needs and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities are necessary.
  • May assist in training new clinical staff and interns.
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology is required.
