Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary:The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of patients to develop personalized treatment plans, including medication prescription as part of the overall patient treatment plan. This role involves interacting with patients and their families, collaborating with medical, therapy, and case management teams, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in the community.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide outstanding care within the office and clients' homes
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers
- Conduct thorough nursing health assessments
- Prescribe medications to patients
- Offer crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing mental health challenges
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions and coping strategies
- Advocate for patients and ensure they have access to necessary resources
- Succeed in this position requires providing compassionate and respectful care
- Work in partnership with a highly skilled psychiatric team
- Deliver evidence-based interventions and therapies to promote mental wellness and recovery
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- Active nursing license in the District of Columbia is required
- At least one year of experience in psychiatric nursing is preferred
- Must have a current CPR Certification
- Chronic disease management experience is beneficial
- $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
