Master Craftsman

Job Summary: As a skilled Lead Carpenter at Simmons & Sons Construction Company, you will be responsible for performing tasks at construction sites, including demolition, installation of interior and exterior finishes, doors/frames, and general framing knowledge and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine the scope of work
• Measure, mark, or record openings or distances to layout areas where construction work will be performed
• Demolish and install interior finishes, ensuring high-quality results
• Assist with other tasks as needed, such as painting, to ensure a smooth project workflow
• Pick up materials as required, maintaining a well-organized workspace
• Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may arise on-site quickly and amicably, promoting a positive work environment
• Operate construction equipment, such as forklifts, if needed, to efficiently complete tasks

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial construction experience, particularly in removing and replacing interior and exterior finishes
• Must provide own truck and all necessary tools
• Understanding of basic plumbing and electrical systems, ensuring safe and efficient work practices
• Ability to communicate and report effectively, providing clear updates to team members and management
• Aptitude in math and strong problem-solving skills, enabling you to tackle complex construction challenges
