Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Nutrition Specialist to join our team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Key Responsibilities
  • Nutrition Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments of pediatric patients, including performance of a nutrition-focused physical exam, and develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans to address identified nutrition diagnoses.
  • Nutrition Education and Counseling: Provide education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers on healthy eating habits, nutrition-related health conditions, and disease management.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with healthcare providers, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
  • Documentation and Communication: Accurately document patient information, nutrition care plans, and progress in the medical record, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with evidence-based nutrition practice guidelines, attend continuing education opportunities, and participate in professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field.
  • Certifications: Registered Dietitian (RD) or Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) certification.
  • Experience: Less than 1 year of experience in pediatric nutrition or related field.
