Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Southwest Health System, Inc. as a key member of our Inpatient Units, Emergency Department, or Surgical Services team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer nursing care to patients in an efficient, safe, and courteous manner using appropriate nursing procedures.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures.
  • Be clinically competent to care for patients, knowledgeable about disease processes and able to identify symptoms or complications.
  • Utilize information technologies to meet patient needs and provide evidence-based knowledge at the point of care to improve health outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure, within state of Colorado.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current PALS (NRP for FBC) certification within 6 months of hire, 12 months if a new graduate.
  • Current ACLS certification within 6 months of hire, 12 months if a new graduate.
  • Successful completion of EKG course within 4 months of hire (Med/surg only).
  • Unit Specific requirements:
    • ER: Minimum of 1 year ER/Inpatient experience preferred.
    • ER: TNCC Course Completion within 12 months of hire.
    • FBC: Successful completion of basic fetal monitoring course within 4 months of hire.
Language Skills
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Skills
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills.

As a condition of employment by Southwest Health System, Inc., you will be required to authorize SHS to conduct a background check prior to your commencing work at SHS, which includes a criminal investigation and verification of citizenship/immigration status, employment history, and education. If you are selected for this position, prior to appointment, you will also be subject to a drug testing for illegal drug use. SHS positions are subject to a Post Offer-Pre Work Screen. This physical exam will determine the capability of the applicant to perform the essential functions.
