You will work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans, utilizing your expertise in vascular access and infusion therapy to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Responsibilities and Requirements- Assess and address the needs of patients and families, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Utilize your expertise in vascular access and infusion therapy to safely and effectively administer medications and treatments, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with other departments as needed to establish and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless communication and coordination of care.
- Implement, monitor, and record patient care and communicate patient condition as appropriate, taking appropriate actions to unanticipated changes in patient condition.
- Utilize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to access treatment and therapy plans, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
- As an SSM Health nurse, demonstrate the professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model, utilizing the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide your response to the current and evolving health and nursing needs of our patients and patient populations.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and quality care.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
- No experience required, but prior experience in infusion therapy and vascular access is preferred.
- Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
- Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds, and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional lifting/moving of patients.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Occasional driving.
- Rare crawling and running.
