City of San Angelo Texas is seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing general labor and maintenance work for City parks, streets, facilities, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various equipment such as rotary and/or reel mowers, tractors, skid steers, weed-eaters, trimmers, chain and pole saws, shovels, hoes, rakes, pruning shears, truck, trailer, blower, and other equipment involved in the maintenance of assigned areas.
- Perform maintenance and repairs within scope of authority, and in accordance with all safety regulations and procedures.
- Assist in the installation of sprinkler systems and perform irrigation repairs.
- Operate a variety of specialized equipment and perform general manual labor tasks in order to maintain parks, streets, infrastructure, and City facilities as assigned.
- Respond to emergencies as needed.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of general work experience.
- Valid Texas Driver License with a good driving record.
- Ability to perform strenuous labor for extended periods of time; work in extreme weather conditions.
- Requires constant physical efforts, and ability to lift and carry up to 117 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is performed outdoors. Regular and timely attendance is required.
