Nuclear Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities- Perform basic to intermediate nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including general and cardiac scans.
- Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information and compare requisitions to physician orders to ensure exam accuracy.
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication according to approved exam parameters.
- Competently perform venipuncture and placement of peripheral IV catheters for medication administration.
- Relay pertinent patient history information to appropriate staff and departments.
- Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images.
- Maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
- Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent knowledge.
This is a casual position in our nuclear medicine department with call requirements. The successful candidate will be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids.
