Position Overview

The Associate Process Engineer, Biomaterials will play a crucial role in the post-processing of 3D printed scaffolds, ensuring their successful transition to the Tissue Engineering Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the post-processing of 3D printed scaffolds, which includes performing surface modifications and washing, to prepare scaffolds for cell attachment.
  • Support the design, fabrication, testing, and documentation of bioreactor systems and related disposables for tissue engineering applications.
  • Follow established protocols to evaluate new chemical formulations for 3D printing, specifically aimed at creating lung scaffolds.
  • Utilize established methods to assess the mechanical and physical properties of 3D printed scaffolds.
  • Collaborate with the cell team to facilitate cell attachment studies.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in biomedical, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an engineering research and development environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on laboratory setting with a keen attention to detail and adherence to good laboratory practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working within a quality system and in medical product design.
  • Demonstrated versatility in other engineering disciplines, such as mechanical or chemical engineering, materials science, or chemistry.
