About the Role

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled CNA Mental Health professional for a per diem / prn position in Belmont, Massachusetts.

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to work in a comprehensive psychiatric hospital committed to providing high-quality mental health services. As a CNA Mental Health professional, you will provide direct patient care and participate in therapeutic milieu under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including accurate and timely documentation of AFS, progress notes, and observation sheets.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Participate in patient rounds or teams, completes patient care assignments, and identifies patient behaviors that contribute to the development of a crisis.
  • Utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations, intervene in managing complex patient situations, and communicate changes in patient status to RN.
  • Follow Standards of Care and protocols for assigned patients, remain awake and alert at all times while on the job, and perform Point of Care testing (POC).
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Prefer two years of college plus one year of clinical experience, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in collaboration with others.
  • Previous experience in direct patient care preferred.
